About The Longer Answer

what we cover

Home, work, cycle, and health.

The Longer Answer is a publication for women navigating home, work, their cycle, and their health, written to be useful on a Tuesday, not just impressive on a slide deck. Articles are organized into four editorial areas, and we treat them differently on purpose.

Home, style, food, and organization content is low-stakes. Career and money content gets sourced. Menstrual cycle and motherhood content gets sourced and carries a disclaimer. Clinical health content (symptoms, screening, conditions) is the highest bar: we don't publish it at all unless a licensed clinician has actually reviewed it, and right now none is published.

how it's made

AI-assisted, editor-approved.

Most articles on this site start as an AI-generated draft. We think that's worth saying plainly rather than hiding. Our stance is that the drafting tool matters less than what happens after: whether a topic was worth writing about, whether the claims trace to a real source, and whether a human actually read the thing before it went out.

Every draft is checked against a fixed set of rules (no invented statistics, no first-person anecdotes presented as real, no unsupported health claims). Since October 2026 it then also waits for an editor to approve it before it goes live, and older articles are being re-read and corrected or removed. Nothing on this site has been medically reviewed unless the article says so explicitly.
